Odoo Javascript Debugging

When it comes to programming, we can all agree that out code is rarely work on a first try. Because of the sheer virtue of fact that, even if you can conceptualize a problem and reduce it to it’s base states, to fully envision it into it’s most granular detail in terms of hundreds of lines of code - Is just not realistic. Thats why i can say that debugging is crucial part of programming. Here few tips to do javascript debugging in odoo using google chrome developer tools. some points also applicable on debugging general website not just odoo. Odoo Developer Mode (with assets) When it comes to javascript debugging in odoo, we should enable ‘asset debugging’. Trust me it will saves your ass a lot of time. Odoo internally use assets like CSS and JavaScript. In normal mode this asset will combined to a file. Odoo: How to Inherit Controller

Sometime we need to modify a certain behavior when accessing odoo url (route). That time we need to do inheritance to odoo controller and then put our desired custom behavior when the url triggered. The way to inherit an odoo controller is slightly different than to inherit odoo object/model. In this tutorial i will do inheritance on odoo route "/shop/checkout" which is the url route when doing website sale checkout, because i want to show some specific product information on the website that i cant call in the xml template unless i parse the data from python controller to xml view. Lets jump into it. Here is the base controller Here is the inheritance controller in the example above i import base controller class (WebsiteSale) and use it as parameter on my new class (WebsiteSaleInherit). Odoo 12 POS Receipt issue

Hello Guys, in this post i just wanna share issue on odoo 12 POS receipt and the fix. last time i check this issue still occur (around january 2019). and i suppose my colleague already report this issue. To reproduce issue Open any chat and leave it open then open POS session Do normal POS order and print the receipt. Odoo bot will include in the receipt For offline mode there is also bug in the POS receipt To solve issue I notice in the base code there is attempt to solve the issue but doesn’t do any effect since it is misplaced (css code → for class “ o_thread_window ” on mail module not loaded on POS interface) so need to add similar code in POS asset Add similar css code for class o_thread_window , . o_notification_manager , . o_dial and load it on POS asset

Odoo: Create Sequence or Running Number

Odoo sequence ussually needed for automatically generated and suppose to be unique value to identified certain object or in this context is document. For example company need unique document number for every Sales document they have. When we need to create NEW sequence in odoo ? When we have new object and this object suppose to have unique and auto generated number. in this example we have new object called 'sale.doc' will be used to store any document related to SO such as contract, delivery doc etc. 1. create xml code to declare the sequence 2. call the sequence and set it on certain char field ('name) that belongs to the same object

Thanks to the new builds provided by Ashish Kulkarni , now wkhtmltopdf compatible with ubuntu 18.04 LTS. Here are straightforward installation procedure:

This simple tutorial will give you an idea how data flow/concept of odoo route to render xml template(interface) 1. simply create the interface (xml) 2. define new route via controller (python) Here we go. now everytime "/custom/url" triggered, it will cexecute the python code in the controller and render desired xml template.

Odoo: Colorize Treeview

In odoo treeview we can colorize record lines depend on specific field. In this example i make each line green and red color based on field 'state' which is selection field ('confirm','reject'). this is also work in treeview of One2many. Simple isn't ? Questions comment down below.

Odoo: Get File Name of Uploaded Binary File

When uploading a file binary on odoo sometimeS we need to store the original file name for informative purpose. So thats why this tutorial will come in handy. well that was ridiculously fast !!! Things that need to take into account is make sure you add those xml on your formview because most of uploading file operation happen in formview. And then ypu can use the field file name in treeview.

Install odoo 12 : Linux/Ubuntu/Debian

Perfecto Ubuntu GTK and Gnome-Shell Theme

Hello fellow bugs creator, this time i will share my ubuntu themes tweak/interface. After research, experiment, pain and desperation finally i found a formula to make my ubuntu look so pleasing in the eyes. i mean just look at this. yes i know so stunning right? no not jessica barden (she is also stunning in this series ). Without further due lets type some magical world. btw i use ubuntu 18.04 1. Tweak Tool first we need to install g-nome tweak tool so we can activate custom theme. $ sudo apt install gnome-tweak-tool 2. Themes I use theme called McOS-themes that you can download from this link . After download the theme, extract it and go to home/.themes directory. If .themes folder didnt exist you can manually create it. Then your new theme should be appear in gnome tweak tool. 3.
